Baby Shower
Today I had my first baby shower. This one was thrown by my very good friends Betsy, Stephanie, and Jane. Jane graciously opened her home for the shower and Betsy and Stephanie made an amazing amount of wonderful food for everyone.
This is a picture of me with them. Jane is on the far left, next to her is Stephanie, me and Betsy is on the right. My niece Kaetlyn (on the far right) wanted to get into every picture that she could, so you will see her in almost all of them.
My friend Erin made a beautiful blanket for the baby. She also made a sea turtle and manatee stuffed animal. I am blessed with extremely talented friends.
Kaetlyn was a very good helper today at the shower. She helped me open up every present, throwing away all wrapping paper and tissue paper. She even said towards the end of the shower that she was "working up a sweat".
We played a game at the shower where candy bars had been melted into diapers to look like poopy diapers and we had to guess the kind of candy bar in each. Notice the looks of concentration (and disgust?!) on each person's face.
I was so thankful to have my mom, sister and niece here at the shower with me. My mom is such a source of calm and willing support, and my sister is a fountain of guidance and information. When we get together, we can accomplish just about anything!

Oh Rachey, looks like you all had so much fun! I wish I could have been there with you. I can't wait to meet my niece or nephew. I'm especially on pins and needles now waiting to find out boy or girl! YAY!
ReplyDeleteHey Rachael,
ReplyDeleteI am so happy for you to have such good friends to host a shower for you. I'm not sure about the diapers, etc. Sounds hilarious!! We are anxiously awaiting that great-grandchild.
