Leah's first cane.

Today we went to the NFBF (National Federation of the Blind of Florida) annual state convention in Orlando. We went to the general session and then a parent seminar. Both were very informative and we got a ton of resources including Leah's first cane. Leah will get longer and longer canes as she grows up. This cane will be with her for her first steps. The parent seminar was amazing. It was on functional assessments of blind children birth-6 years and was lead by a grandfather of a blind child who is now 7. He wrote a book on his reflections as a Christian experiencing blindness in his immediate family. We left with an autographed copy of the book and look forward to sharing it when we are through reading it.

  3. She is holding it kinda like a baton! Do you think a cute little blind girl can be a majorette? Our girl can be anything she wants to! She just has to watch her head when she tosses it!
