A Fresh Start

Leah started her first day at her new daycare today. After about 15 months at the last one, we are excited for this new start. Our move to a new daycare was not initiated by us, but we can definitely see God's coordination in this time of transition. Just to name some of the ways God has proven Himself to be the sovereign provider He is:
  • Leah's new daycare is the Child Development and Research Center for the University of Florida. This means that she will have the most current and best research-based education around.
  • Leah's new daycare moved her to the top of the waiting list because she has a disability. They are eager to accommodate and serve our special girl.
  • Leah's new daycare had a blind child in her same classroom only a year ago. Not many people have worked with children who are blind.
  • Leah's new daycare is full-time, which will allow Stephen the flexibility to stay on campus more often and devote time to working on his dissertation.
  • Because Leah's new daycare is full-time, it meant a higher cost, but we just finished paying off my car, and my car payment more than covers the difference. So there is no added financial burden.
And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.   Romans 8:28

  1. This is such and encouraging post. I am so thrilled that our little precious one is going to have such wonderful care when she has to be away from her Mommy and Daddy. I also LOVED the way you listed how God is so obviously in this new beginning for Leah. I love you guys so much and the pictures of Leah are just beautiful. Please give her a kiss from her Grandma and tell her that Grandpa can't wait to see her in a few weeks!!

    Love Mom

  4. We are so excited for your new daycare. I know it was a long time ago, but I worked in the daycare at OSU. It was a lab for us and a wonderful time with the little ones. We even had a little lamb for the children to enjoy. Leah Rose will really enjoy herself there and thrive. God is so good. We love you, Leah Rose.

  5. I worked at UT's equivalent of Leah's new daycare as part of my coursework there. It was a really special place, and I'm rejoicing with and for you at the Lord's provision in this!
