Little River Springs

Today we decided to go swim in a spring. One of the best things about living in North Central Florida is the access to the many beautiful, crystal clear springs (see below) that are all over the area. What's even more amazing is that this park is free!

The spring is definitely beautiful, but the water is a constant 72 degrees, so you won't catch me swimming in that frigid water. Stephen on the other hand has no problem with diving right in. Not only did he get in, he also dove down into the opening of the cave that you can kind of see off to the left.

The water bubbles up out of the spring, over the limestone rock and down a very short "river" (hence the name Little River Springs) to meet up with the Suwanee River. Where the Little River flows into the Suwanee is a small waterfall that Daddy and Leah had fun playing in. You can see her reaching for the water. She didn't want to leave!

Leah also had fun sitting in the shallow river water, splashing by herself.
I did actually get in the water, though it was in the Suwanee River, north of where the Little River flows into it. It was still a little too cool for me, so I didn't go in much deeper than in this picture. Oh, and don't mind the finger up the nose, she's just "exploring"!
