It has been so beautiful in Gainesville for the last week - spring is here! We had to take advantage of the wonderful weather, so we decided to have a fun outdoor day! We went down to Lake Wauburg, which the university owns part of and has a recreation area on. It is free for UF student use, including renting sailboats, canoes, kayaks, paddle boats, and other water recreation stuff, as well as having a beach and swimming area and picnic tables. It is an amazing resource we have here in Gainesville. All this to say, we decided to go there today! When we got there, it wasn't opened, so we went to Micanopy and stopped at their community playground for a little while. We had fun at the park, and then headed back up to the lake where we took Leah on her first canoe ride. She was very good on the ride and didn't seem to mind the life jacket. While we were on the lake we even got to see a special friend!

I think she looks like Rachael in the "I'm ready to swing" picture. :) These are so cute! We tried to enjoy a day at the park here, but ummmmm, NE Ohio isn't nearly so pleasant in February. I've been reminded by several friends' FB status updates this week that, oh yes, winter ends by the end of February in Florida. Enjoy it for us! We had over 8 inches of snow this week!
