No, that is not my clever way of using foul language without saying the actual bad words! It's actually the annual event held here in Gainesville that the Department of Blind Services and one of the sororities on campus put on for visually impaired kids in and around Gainesville. We were excited to go this year, both because Leah is older and more interested in the world around her, and because
last year it was rainy, cold, and Leah did not enjoy it. Today, however, was a beautiful day and Leah had a great time (as long as she was in Mommy's or Daddy's arms!). There were fun activities to do, lots of friends, and the beeping egg hunt itself.

| Daddy and Leah in the bounce house. As long as Daddy didn't try to put Leah down, she had a great time! |
 |
| Leah was not very cooperative while getting her face painted. Hence Daddy restraining her! |
 |
| Leah got to meet the Easter Bunny. |
 |
| She even let the Easter Bunny hold her! What a brave girl! |
Leah also got to make a pretty bracelet and decorate a picture frame. Actually, Mommy decorated the picture frame and made the bracelet. Leah did like to feel the picture frame and chew on the bracelet, though. However, the main reason for going was the beeping egg hunt. They have Easter eggs that don't beep, but they do chirp like little chicks. They spread them out on the field and let the children go hunting, using their sense of hearing to find the eggs. It's really neat that Leah gets to grow up having experiences that we got to have as children.

| She really liked the noise they made, but we had to give them back so they can be used again next year. |
As an aside (a really BIG aside): Leah has decided to do some big things lately. For one thing, she has taken a couple of steps, holding hands (like in the picture), at daycare. She has also learned some signs at daycare and uses them to communicate there. Both are big things that we are really excited about, though our excitement has been a little dampened by the fact that she will only do these things at daycare. We know she will eventually do those things for us. Leah has always done things in her own time and her own way!
Today is April 20th. Happy Birthday to our precious little Leah Rose. We love you so much! Can't wait to see you!
