Christmas in Miami

We went to Miami the weekend before Christmas and were able to have Christmas with my side of the family as well as have a check-up with Leah's ophthalmologist at Bascom Palmer. It was so nice because my dad was not flying and my brother Joe and his family got to be there too. We got ourselves a new DSLR camera for Christmas, so I have had a lot of fun taking pics!

Leah sitting in a mound of presents, but all she cares about is the Christmas tree!

During my photo shoot with Reagan and Leah. Sweet cousins!

Nana and Leah, enjoying the beautiful weather. Notice Leah's sleeveless shirt the week before Christmas. Gotta love Miami winters!

Riley loved playing Christmas carols on the piano with Uncle Stephen.

Leah's pretty Christmas dress (and pretty smile!)

Leah's new favorite thing - standing at her light box.

As for Leah's check up with Dr. Murray... he is not satisfied with the basic genetic testing we had done last year and has referred us to a doctor in Iowa who specializes in molecular ophthalmology and looks at the genetics of inherited retina diseases/disorders. Dr. Murray feels like this doctor is our best bet to find any answers to Leah's condition, and if there is ever any treatment, we will need to know what it is. So, we are looking forward to a trip to Iowa sometime in the upcoming summer to meet this new doctor and see about getting some more specific genetic testing done.
