Visit with Dr. Khuddus

Today we had an appointment with Dr. Khuddus, Leah's pediatric ophthalmologist. It was a follow-up visit requested by Dr. Murray, the ophthalmologist from Miami. At the appointment, they asked us about our appointments with the pediatric neurosurgeon and with Dr. Murray. I had forgotten that we hadn't seen Dr. Khuddus since all of those appointments. We haven't seen Dr. Khuddus since Leah was 2 months old! She took a look at Leah's eyes without dilating her pupils and checked for focus. She agreed with Dr. Murray that Leah's eyes looked stable. She said that Leah is focusing well, which means she doesn't need glasses at this point. Dr. Khuddus seemed a little concerned about Leah's head-bobbing. She is referring us to another pediatric neurologist to just make sure everything is okay. She said that Leah would not need another MRI since she has had one in the past few months, which is a relief. She also said it could just be developmental. Since Leah is not lifting her head up well, her neck muscles may not be strong enough yet to hold her head steady. Dr. Khuddus was excited about our connections with FSDB and Early Steps. She said she wanted to see Leah getting PT and OT as soon as possible and told us to let her know if we were not given given PT or OT and she had a person she would refer us to. We go back to see her again in April. In the meantime, we just play with and enjoy Leah.

  1. That is good news that the Dr. agreed that Leah is focusing well! When do you go to the neurologist? Just wondering so I can pray specifically for that appointment. Also, does Leah have a 6 month regular Pediatrician appointment coming up? Also just curious!

    Love you guys,
    Mom B.
